Laurel also has significant experience working in Human Resources in a service industry, having worked for a premier, regional financial institution for more than 10 years. Laurel held numerous positions including: Employment Specialist, Employment Manager, Salary and Benefits Administration Manager, Corporate Compensation Manager and Merger Integration Specialist.
In addition to general Human Resource knowledge, Laurel's areas of specialization include compensation (executive, incentive, and base pay plans) and human resource policies and procedures. Laurel has made presentations to a number of local and national professional organizations and business groups. She has provided training on topics such as Compensation and Incentive Plans, Affirmative Action Plans, Harassment Training, Communication and Conflict Resolution Skills, Manager/Supervisory Training, and Workplace Violence.
Laurel graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a BA in Speech Communications where she also took numerous business courses. She is a graduate of the PA Banker's Association Intermediate School of Banking and is an active member of the World at Work (formerly American Compensation Association), and the Society for Human Resource Management. She is actively involved in the community and serves on a local not-for-profit Board.
