Background
Our client is a New York State Chartered, FDIC insured community bank based in the Southern Tier with assets of over $500 million and Investment/Trust assets under management of approximately $150 million.

Today the bank is the largest locally-owned and managed community bank in the area. The Company is poised for future growth and expansion in its commercial, investment/trust services and insurance business units.

Job Description
The successful candidate will have 20+ years of senior-level business and commercial banking experience, preferably with a strong community banking organization, as well as possible experience at a regional bank, with responsibility and accountability for the bottom line P&L performance of the company or a major business unit(s). He/she will have strong administrative skills to oversee all operations of the bank, a strong understanding of the financial environment of community banking, as well as experience as a CEO, COO, Market President, or other executive level position with broad staff responsibilities within a solid community bank or large regional commercial banking organization.

Candidate Requirements

  • 15+ years of senior-level business and commercial banking experience, preferably with a strong community banking organization, as well as possible experience at a regional bank, with responsibility and accountability for the bottom line P&L performance of the company or a major business unit(s).
  • Strong administrative skills to oversee all operations of the Company.
  • Strong understanding of the financial environment of community banking.
  • Experience as a Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Market President, or other executive level position with broad staff responsibilities within a solid community bank or large regional commercial banking organization.
  • Well-organized with an ability to successfully lead, direct, develop and engage employees with a vision for the future.
  • Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to relate with a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Solid lending and credit background with the types of business banking, commercial/residential real estate and agricultural credits typically found in a $500 million to $1 billion asset community bank portfolio.
